Pressed Juicery

Jul 2022 - Present

Segueing into the food & beverage industry, Mikayla is currently a Marketing Manager at Pressed Juicery. In the summer of 2022, she started at the cold-pressed juice company as a Social Media Assistant where she built a multi-tiered brand ambassador program, drove engagement on the brand's TikTok account, and grew their TikTok following by 74% over a 6-month period.

In March 2023, Mikayla was elevated to Marketing Coordinator, where she was hands-on in the refresh of Pressed Juicery's brand and managed high-level partnerships and campaigns. As of March 2024, she is the company's Marketing Manager, supporting the SVP of Brand Marketing in all things marketing and creative. 

Octi

Jul 2021 - May 2022

Mikayla landed her first managerial role at Octi, an AR-focused web3 social platform and video app, where she strategized and executed various social media campaigns that drove 150k user activations and launched Octi to #1 on the App Store. Beginning as a Social Media Marketing Intern, she spearheaded the creation of the first ever college ambassador program, played a pivotal role in the planning and execution of a 100-person influencer event to celebrate the app's launch, and produced TikTok ad content that landed in the Top 20 performing ads in the U.S.

At the end of her internship, Mikayla was brought on full-time as Octi's Content Marketing Manager, executing the ideation, production, editing, and publishing of video content for both organic growth and paid social media campaigns. In her first four months of managing the content calendar, she grew Octi's TikTok audience by 462.1% and built the Octi Creator Program, where she managed partnerships with 50+ carefully selected influencers to create sponsored TikTok ads and in-app video content. In her final months with Octi, she wrote the lore and backstory for the company's newest web3 endeavor, Ultraviolet, which lives within the project's white paper and website.

episode 8, inc.

May - Oct 2020

Immediately after graduating from The New School, Mikayla interned for the tech startup company, episode 8, inc. As a Marketing Intern, she developed and executed social media marketing strategies in order to promote the company's social podcasting app, sup: share your conversations. She co-managed the content creation internship program, facilitating the hiring of interns and moderating weekly meetings. She also assisted in developing a college ambassador program to increase brand awareness on campuses across the United States.

Bumble

Sep 2019 - Jun 2020

Mikayla spent her senior year as a Campus Outreach Manager for Bumble at The New School. As her team's Outreach Manager, she strategized partnerships with organizations, influencers, and local businesses. She increased brand value on campus through various marketing tactics, such as mass postering and publishing branded content on social media channels. She also assisted in organizing brand sponsored events, both in-person and virtual, and spoke about Bumble at campus organizations' meetings. Her team ranked in the Top 5 Highest Growth Campuses during the Spring 2020 semester.

Rehegoo Music Group

May - Aug 2019

As a Marketing and Outreach Intern at Rehegoo Music Group, Mikayla researched and contacted up-and-coming talent to potentially sign contracts with the recording label. She monitored the company's New York City office email inquiries, scheduled meetings with talent, and promoted the company's newly launched streaming platform to local business. In her time at Rehegoo, Mikayla developed a partnership proposal with Sofar Sounds, a music events startup, to establish a strategic relationship in the company's New York and London, U.K. regions.

TEDxOhloneCollegeNewark

Sep 2017 - Mar 2018

Mikayla's first professional experience with marketing was during her role as Student Director of Marketing and Communications for her school's first ever TEDx event. She created and published daily postings on the event's official social media pages to promote the event. Facilitating $2,500 in ticket sales, Mikayla's marketing efforts assisted in selling out the 100-person event. She also aided in the organization of the event lineup, as she prospected and developed relationships with professional and student speakers.

Mikayla graduated from The New School in May 2020, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Culture and Media with a minor in Journalism and Design. A first-generation college graduate and proud transfer student, Mikayla completed her studies with a 3.88 GPA and graduated with honors. She was awarded onto the Dean's List for all four of her semesters spent at The New School. She was inducted into Tau Sigma National Honor Society and The National Society of Leadership and Success.

Ohlone College

Fremont, CA

Mikayla graduated from Ohlone College in May 2018, earning an Associates of Art in Communication. She finished her community college career with a 3.73 GPA and graduated with highest honors. During her time at Ohlone College, Mikayla tutored students at the Communication Lab, wrote and directed her first short film, and worked as the Student Director of Marketing and Communications for the college's first TEDx event. She was inducted into two honor societies: Phi Theta Kappa and Sigma Chi Eta.
